16 Game predictions for 16 2015 Patriot games

The NFL released all 32 teams 2015 schedules last night, lets dive into the +New England Patriots  and jot down  quick prediction for each game

Opening Day Week 1 VS. +Pittsburgh Steelers

The Patriots open up the 2015 season with a Super Bowl banner being  raised and an 8:30 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Former teammates and starting Running Backs will suspended for the game which means we could see a hole boatload of passing. I expect a high scoring game and the Pats are 3-0 when raising the banner following a Super Bowl win. 31-28 Patriots Record 1-0

WEEK 2 @  +Buffalo Bills
Don't expect anything to change from Rex Ryan from New York to Rex Ryan in Buffalo, New York. A vaunted front seven, with pressures from every spot and a mix of coverage to keep Tom Brady and his receivers guessing. Buffalo and its new coach will get the Patriots at home in a close one. 24-21 Bills Record 1-1

WEEK 3 +Jacksonville Jaguars

The Patriots face a young team with huge potential but that potential will not be enough against the Patriots at home. New England follows its loss to the Jets with blowout win at home. Patriots 42-14 Record 2-1

Week 4 BYE

The Patriots host the earliest bye of any team this season which can be a benefit but also a burden. Following the bye the team travels to Dallas for a 4:25 game against the Cowboys.

WEEK 5 @ +Dallas Cowboys

The Patriots under Bill are 11-4 after a BYE week. Dallas will pose a tough challenge with Tony Romo and Dez Bryant to defend. You also can not forget about the great offensive line of Dallas so the Patriots will be on their heals in this one. Dallas 28-24 Record 2-2

WEEK 6 @ +Indianapolis Colts

After a loss to Dallas the Patriots will travel back north for a prime time game versus Andrew Luck and the Colts. This time around the Colts look to have more fire power but can they stop the run? As history states Indy has been very vulnerable to the Patriots run game, and Andrew Luck has struggled versus the Patriots defense. I expect those trends to continue as the Patriots win in Indy. Patriots 34-20 Record 3-2

WEEK 7 +New York Jets

In the Patriots second divisional game of the season this time versus the Jets at Gillette the Patriots will see a familiar face- Darrelle Revis. That alone brings a ton of press for this 1PM game. Expect the Patriots to expose Revis as they roll to their 4th win of the year. Patriots 29-21 Record 4-2

WEEK 8 +Miami Dolphins

Back to back home games, back to back divisional games and back to back wins for the Patriots. This win improves them to 2-1 in AFC EAST play. Patriots 24-21 Record 5-2

WEEK 9 +Washington Redskins

Another home game for the Patriots. This time the Washington Redskins. Last time these two teams played was in 2007 and that game saw the Patriots blowout the the Redskins 52-0. I don't expect that to happen, so much has changed since then but the Patriots will cruise to their 4th straight victory. Patriots 38-17
Record 6-2

WEEK 10 @ +New York Giants

An away game against the Giants, We all know the Giants play the Patriots extremely well every time they face and I expect that to continue. Shane Vareen will square off against his former team while New England will have their hands filled with ODB and Victor Cruz, Although that won't be enough. Patriots 27-24 Record 7-2

WEEK 11 +Buffalo Bills

The first time around Rex Ryan and the Bills caught the Patriots. The Pats have not loss to the same divisional opponent in one season since 2000. The Patriots blow out Buffalo in this one. Patriots 48-17
Record 8-2

WEEK 12 @  +Denver Broncos

The Pats will head to Mile high in what could be the last time we ever see Brady VS. Manning. Manning will be 39 Brady will be 38. I believe this will be Manning's last season, Brady will get the upper hand in the potential end to a great QB match up. Patriots 31-28 Record 9-2

WEEK 13 +Philadelphia Eagles

New England will face an Eagles team with a backfield seen like no other featuring D. Murray, R. Matthews and D. Sproles. Tim Tebow could also be the starting QB for the Eagles or not, we all like to dream. The Eagles fast pace attack and the depth at Running Back will be to much for the Patriots as they fall to the Eagles at home. Eagles 28-14 Record 9-3

WEEK 14 @ +Houston Texans

Talk about a family reunion. Brian Hoyer, Ryan Mallet, Romeo Crennel, Vince Wilfork and Mike Vrabel. The Patriots travel to Houston to face familiar foes. This game will be tightly contested  as J.J Watt and Vince Wilfork will be a "BIG" task to get by but New England prevails. Patriots 21-17 Record 10-3

WEEK 15 +Tennessee Titans

One week later the Patriots host the Titans. For the first time in their careers the McCourty twins will face off. The Patriots will ride to their 11th victory on the season. Patriots 38-14 Record 11-3

WEEK 16 @  +New York Jets

New England will finish the season with away games starting with the New York Jets. The Jets always play the Pats tight but not this time around. Tom Brady has a field day as the Pats cruise to Victory.
Patriots 34-17  Record 12-3

WEEK 17 @ +Miami Dolphins

The last game of the season see's the Patriots heading out to Miami. Last season the Patriots struggled in the heat on opening day but that won't be a problem in January. The Pats will wrap up another AFC EAST TITLE and finish the season as the AFC'S top seed gaining  Home Field and a first round bye in the playoffs. Patriots 28-20 Record 13-3

How long does Tom Brady have left?

People every year say that Tom Brady is regressing, he's not the Tom he once was, he can't win in the clutch anymore. So on and so forth you get the picture, actually Tom Brady has been just as good if not better than than he has in his "prime years". In case you didn't know he just won his 4th Super Bowl and his first in 10 years. He's the only player along with Joe Montana with Multiple Super Bowl MVP awards. Oh and he won the Super Bowl against a defense as good as we seen in the last 25-30 years of football. He threw 4 touchdowns and completed 37 passes which is a Super Bowl record yet he's regressing. Let's take a deeper look into Brady these past two seasons.

2014-2015 Season

This season Brady completed 65% of his passes for 4100 yards 33 Touchdowns and 9 Interceptions with a QBR of 98.1

Brady's receivers featured Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell, Danny Amendola, Rob Gronkowski and Running Back Shane Vareen. Outside of those players there wasn't much production from any others excluding Tim Wrights 6 TD receptions. Amendola really only came on towards the end of the season.

Brady's career average for % of passes completed stands at 64 while he averages 30 TD's a season and just around 10 Interceptions a season. That is 2:1 TD-INT ratio.

His numbers from this past season were right on track with Brady's averages. Meanwhile in the playoffs he was asked to throw the football more than 50 times in 2 games in which he won both games. QB's who throw the ball are 4-50 since the Super Bowl when throwing the ball 50 times in a post season game, 3 of those wins coming from Brady.

2013-2014

Many thought this season was going to TB12 to a downwards trend has he had only 25 TD's two up from his career low of 23 and also threw 11 Interceptions throwing the ball 628 times that season. Brady was throwing to at the time unproven Slot receiver a oft injured Danny Amendola and a never healthy Gronk.

Yet he still lead his team to the AFC Championship game. Despite career lows he continued to show greatness in the clutch with come from behind games against the Browns and Broncos.

I know many people say stats don't prove everything Brady has stuck to his career averages and broken records while also winning a Super Bowl. So with the pace Brady is going at the soon to be 38 year old should have a few more good seasons in him and maybe one more Super Bowl win in him.

2015 NFL Draft

With the NFL draft creeping slowly upon us let's take a quick look at what the draft really provides.

The NFL is loaded with Talent it's also loaded with other guys aiming to prove them selfs. A 7 round 255 player draft every year allows 255 players every year a chance to make roster earn some money and do what they love.

What about those undrafted guys many have to go through more workouts land on a practice squad and if they get lucky end up on the 53 man roster because of injury.

The draft process is rough it opens many dreams but also closes several.

Patriots Secondary

After recent signings of Bradley Fletcher and Robert McClain the patriots head into the season with the following players at the CB position

Alfonzo Dennard
Kyle Arrington
Logan Ryan
Malcolm Butler
Chimidi Chekwa
Justin Green
Robert McClain
Bradley Fletcher

Kyle Arrington- Kyle has been with the Patriots for several years now and has seen the secondary transform before his eyes. Arrington is great slot corner and can shutdown small speedy receivers as seen by Ty Hilton. As far as lining up on the outside against bigger bodies he struggles although being in the right position. When asked to in 2011 to be a number 1 number 2 corner he did intercept a league lead 7 passes.

Alfonzo Dennard- A season ago many would have thought that Dennard was the next best corner for the Patriots playing very well in his first two seasons. With additions of Revis and Browner last off season he fell off the chart and never worked his way back up. Dennard  does have a great skill set with the ability to press at the line and play at the number 2 spot other than that he's not very good in the slot and can be caught out of position.

Logan Ryan- Ryan a year ago picked off 5 passes and looked great all season long. Many would think he'd be even better this season, not so much. Although Ryan wasn't bad he wasn't great. In his second year he showed very inconsistent play at times looking like a premier corner and other times looking like a struggling rookie. Ryan shows great speed and is in good position for the ball, he has good ball skills and should improve heading into his third season.

Malcolm Butler- The super bowl hero as many know him as. Throughout his rookie year Butler played heavy snaps in a few games showing great physicality and a nack for the ball. Butler is raw and could develop into a good if not great corner under BB. Expectations will be high for the super bowl hero heading into his second season.

Chimidi Chekwa- Recently acquired Chekwa struggled on the field with the raiders playing high snaps. I believe Chekwa was brought in for completion and if he plays well enough could make the roster.

Justin Green- Green was mostly on the practice squad this season for the Pats so he knows the system and could battle for a roster spot.

Bradley Fletcher- Fletcher has had an up and down career a few years ago he looked great ranking high in PPF for corners. Last season Fletcher struggled in the Eagles cover 3 system letting up 9 touchdowns for 1000 yards. Confidence is an issue with Bradley and if he can capture that back he could perform well in a much similar situation to Patrick Chung.

Robert McClain- McClain brings  great depth. He is a solid corner and plays exceptionally well in in slot which the  Patriots lack outside of Kyle Arrington. Look for Robert to come in and compete right away regardless of role whether it's outside or in the slot.

3rd Down back New England?

For years and years the Patriots have always came into every season with atleast two pass catching Running Backs. Year after year it was Kevin Faulk who handled the duties then soon after he retired the Patriots brought in Danny Woodhead who starred in the 3rd down role at RB for 3 seasons till he left his way to San Diego for more money. Once he was gone the Patriots drafted Shane Vareen and slowly but surely he caught on and thrived in his role. During his time in New England he caught several passes and has several stand out games. Including a 6 catch performance in Super Bowl 46 with a touchdown and this year featuring a 11 catch performance in Super Bowl 49 which ultimately led to his departure to the New York Giants. Which has led the Patriots in need for a 3rd Down back. Many thought Reggie Bush was going to sign in New England but he ended up signing with the 49ers. Heading into the 2015 season as of right now the Patriots just have James White on the roster who could fill the role. As far as White goes he was drafted last season out of Wisconsin and spent much of his time as basically a red shirt rookie. Pierre Thomas a veteran RB could be a big possibility as NE loves to bring in veterans.

Should the Pats bring back Vince Wilfork?

Where to start?? Big Vince the constant main stay of the New England Patriots defense. Since 2004 Wilfork has been the key cog for the Patriots clogging up holes stopping running lanes and disrupting Quarterbacks.

Despite missing the entire season in 2013 with a torn achilles many thought Wilfork would never return the same and his career was over. He proved doubters wrong and took a pay cut to return to the Patriots in 2014 and played yet another great season leading the way on defense to New England's 4th Lombardi in 15 years. Fast forward and here we are, the beginning stages of the 2015 season.

The Patriots front office decided not to pick up the 33 year olds $8 million option, Wilfork left heartfelt letter saying his goodbyes to the Patriots and their fans. But is this really the end to Vince Wilforks time in in New England?

Of course many teams have been interested in picking up the Defensive Tackle but Wilfork and his agent have yet to make a move. According to several sources including  Patriots representative of ESPN Mike Reiss the Patriots are much interested in bringing back Wilfork on a new deal. With the recent resigning of Alan  Branch on a 2 year deal worth $6.6 Million how far will the Pats go for Wilfork? Can the two sides come to an agreement and have Wilfork start and finish his career with the Patriots? Leave a comment, what do you think will happen?

With Revis gone whats next?

So hopefully many of you Patriot fans out there already knew that Revis was not going to be a Patriot for the 2015 season. There was just no way we could have afford him. Only way he would have remained was on a hometown discount. Revis proved yet again that he is a business man returning the New York Jets on a whopping 5 YEAR $70 MILLION DEAL. Including $40 MILLION GUARANTEED over the first 4 years of contract. Well enough talking numbers lets take a quick take on whats next for the Patriots and how they plan to address the corner back position.

Free Agency-

After the recent signing of Chris Culliver to Washington there is not much on the market. Those who stand out among others are recently released former Saint Corey White and Perish Cox a former 49er. I don't expect the Pats to push for neither of these guys but could sign someone else in the market.

Trade-

If the Patriots were to make any big moves at the corner position it would be through trade. I don't exactly see what exact teams would the Patriots be interested in but veterans on teams on likely a target of New England. It is New England though to expect anything as far as trades.

As far as the draft which is approaching soon I'm not sure the Patriots will target corners as the class seems rather weak at the position.

Best Dynasty in NFL History?

Since 2000 many would argue the New England Patriots could very well be the best dynasty in NFL history.

New England Patriots of the 21st Century

Vince Lombardi’s Packers won 5 championships and the first two Superbowls, leading to the Superbowl trophy bearing the Hall of Fame coach’s name. The ‘70s Steelers have 10 members in the Hall of Fame and four Super Bowl wins. The 49ers had the best offensive tandem in the history of the game with Joe Montana and Jerry Rice and have also won four Super Bowls. The Cowboys were the first team ever to win 3 Super Bowls  in 4 years, and have their own players in the  Hall of Fame featuring Michael Irvin, Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith and Larry Allen.
In the year of 2000  a legacy and dynasty was born. Roberty Craft who bought the team in 1994 hired Bill Belichick as head coach. Weeks later, the new coach and his staff selected the little known Tom Brady, a quarterback from Michigan and the 199th overall pick of the 2000 NFL Draft. Since then the Patriots have been nothing short of dominant.
The Patriots began a journey that year that has so far culminated in 6 Superbowl appearances, four Superbowl championships and 12 divisional championships in the last 15 years. They were and still are the most  dominant team in the NFL.
Tom Brady has one ring shy of a whole hand and six appearances which is most ever by a starting Quarterback.
I want to address “spy-gate”. In 2007, The Patriots were found to be violating NFL rules by videotaping the New York Jets’ defensive signal calls. The Patriots were fined by the NFL for $500,000 and lost a first rounder draft choice.
The Patriots went 70-26 before spy-gate appearing in four Super Bowls winning three of them. Since spy-gate and being fined the Patriots have gone 94-28 appearing in two Super Bowls and winning one of them this past year against the Seattle Seahawks.
12 Division Titles, 6 Super Bowl appearances 4 Super Bowl wins, 9 AFC Championship game appearances including 4 straight since 2011, 28 playoff games 20 Playoff victories and over 150 regular season wins in the past 15 seasons has been nothing short of dominant and no other teams has been close.

Money (Quick Take)

What would we be without money? Some people say money makes the world go round. I would agree and disagree at the the same time.

The world has become so reliant on money its not even funny anymore. But yet at the same time there are those who don't have as much money as others but yet still enjoy life sometimes more than those who have the money.

I'd have to say this is simply because those who have money are used to having it all the time and don't know what to do with it and reach the point where once they don't have as much their entire world is ending. While others with less know how to live better and be happier with what they have and when they do have extra they know how to use it.

Biggest Offseason Needs for Patriots (Quick Take)

Its pretty hard to nitpick at a team who's just won the Super Bowl this past season but every team can always get better or worse after every offseason for New England its only up from here and heres why.

Need 1- Resigning Darelle Revis

In order for the Patriots to continue to their pass success on defense their main priority will be to bring Revis back. The Pats an option of paying him $20 Million next season or getting a deal done that will lock him in for a few more years. Both sides seem to be ready for contract talk and I Revis signing a new a new deal in New England.

Need 2- Resigning Devin McCourty

McCourty is just as if not more important to the defense as is Revis. He is defiantly in the top  5 talks at the FS position. Recent articles buy NESN and Comcast sports say McCourty is more than interested in returning to New England.

Need 3- Doing anything else that is possible to help the front 7 on the defense. As well as bring back Shane Vareen or if not a veteran like Reggie Bush could fill in the need at the right price.

New England Patriots Wide Receiver Breakdown

Since 2007 the Patriots have lacked a deep threat, but that has been replaced with slot receivers catching 100 balls every season. We take a look at the top three WR's of the Patriots

Julian Edelman

Edelman since Wes Welker's departure has really thrived into his own. He shows great toughness, route running and quickness. Some would argue that Edelman is a lot quicker than Wes. Edelman brings much more to the table than just playing the slot receiver. He lines outside nearly 50% of plays. He is also a very capable punt returner. This season he caught 92 balls in 14 games for 992 Yards and four scores. Edelman is under contract for another 3 seasons and could really deepen his legacy has a Patriot if he continues such success.

Brandon LaFell

Brandon LaFell addition to the New England Patriots this season proved well. He is under contract for another two seasons and should continue to thrive playing with a QB like Tom Brady. For the first time since 2007 the Patriots had a legitimate outside the number presence. But what makes LaFell so valuable is his versatility has he can line up anywhere on offense. Its also a plus that LaFell really developed a nice chemistry with Brady over the season. It was highly noticeable when the started to hook up on back shoulder fades for touchdowns. Brandon caught 74 balls for 953 yards and added seven touchdowns.

Danny Amendola

Many would argue Danny Amendola is a waste of money but I would disagree. Amendola over the course of the 2014 season really caught on. The chemistry with Brady is highly noticeable. Amendola does everything asked for the patriots. He took over the Kick Returning role, when Edelman went down he proved his worth and in the post season he caught three touchdown passes. I wouldn't expect Danny going anywhere anytime soon but I do expect the Patriots to ask him to restructure his deal to open some cap space.

THE REST

Aaron Dobson and Bryan Tyms, not much here. Dobson since his the end of his rookie season has been a disappoint always being hurt and not really having a chance to do anything on the offense. Tyms to me is a mystery. He was trained by Randy Moss and in a way show some glimpse of him. He caught a 45 yard touchdown pass over triple coverage as he out leaped and out ran every defender on a post pattern. Other than that Tyms didn't see much time so I have to wonder what is he really capable of?

New England Patriots Running Back Situation

The New England Patriots haven't had a house hold name at running back since the Corey Dillon days but since then they have had some of the most complete backfields in the NFL with great depth.

On to this off season the Patriots face tough decisions with Running Backs Shane Vareen and Stevan Ridley. Vareen coming off a career year including one of only five NFL backs with 50 plus catches and 50 plus carries will be a free agent. While Ridley himself will be a FA as well coming off an ACL tear.

Both posses great ability for the Patriots and have in their respective careers thus far. Although Ridley  is a major concern as were not sure of what he can bring to the table after his knee injury. Vareen on the other proved his worth in big games this season including a 11 catch performance in the Super Bowl.

Keep in Mind the Patriots have Blount force trauma, Brandon Bolden and James White under contract. Ridleys ability can and has been replaced by Blount. While Vareen posses the ability no other back has till proven (James White).

I don't expect the two both to be back. Although there is a slight chance. Vareen has a better chance of coming back as he brings much to the offense and has developed a great relationship with Brady in the passing game. Ridley if he returns will be on a one year prove it deal but I don't see that happening because of the circumstances regarding much more important players.

Quick Take

Have you ever just took a moment and realized how fortunate we are? Have you ever just thought to yourself what if I was homeless? Not many people do, a lot of them take life for granted, everyday life for granted. Switch places with someone from a foreign country for a day or even the daily homeless man you see everyday on the same corner. My point is be happy for what you have and be thankful for your situation and if you don't like strive for greatness!!!!

Julian Edelman's Grit

Edelman is a beast. The 28 year old former Kent State QB has really made his name well known across the league. A seventh round draft choice by the Patriots in 2009 Edelman made the switch to Wide Receiver to be able to play in the NFL. Edelman in his rookie season showed promise catching 37 balls for 359 yards and a score. He also developed a nice role as a punt returner (more on that later).

The next two seasons featured Edelman barely involved on the offense and an occasional burst on special teams as he was plagued by injury.

In 2012 Edelman was healthy but wasn't asked for much on Offense but he continued to deepen himself as a great punt returner and was also

asked to play defensive back.

In 2013 with Wes Welker's departure many though the Free Agent pick up of Danny Amendola would fill in Welker's shoes. We were all wrong Edelman went on his way to having his best season of his career showing great toughness and some ability that Wes did not show. He finished the season with 105 catches for 1,056 Yards and six touchdowns and was still able to produce in the return game.

The following season many questioned if Edelman could continue to be productive or better yet even stay healthy. He proved his doubters wrong despite not playing a full season. Many times over the season Edelman took huge hits but kept asking for more and continued to chirp his way through defenses on third downs. He finished the season with 92 catches for 972 yards and four scores.

His greatness continued throughout the post season as he threw his first NFL pass for a touchdown to Danny Amendola.

Edelman's toughness and greatness really showed in the Super Bowl. In my opinion I thought he should have won MVP. He caught nine balls for 109 yards and the game winning touchdown. Edelman took hit after hit the entire game and fought for plenty of yards. In a hit were most receivers would have alligator armed the ball Edelman reached out and took a huge hit from Kam Chancellor over the middle on 3rd and 14 to save the drive. He bounced off and rumbled his way for a few extra yards. Two plays later the Patriots faced a 3rd and 8, Brady looked Edelman's way and prevailed yet again running for a first down and more. He struggled in agony to get up but he did. A few plays later Edelman ran a beautiful Zig route for a score to put the Patriots up and the rest is history.

Despite taking hit after hit Edelman showed his biggest heart and biggest performance in the biggest game of his career. Props to him as he continues to cement his legacy as a Patriot great.

Change up ( Life )

Did you ever just sit down and think to yourself how lucky you are?

Have you ever thought about how fortunate we are as humans?

I sure have more than once, actually everyday. It constantly runs in my mind, why am I here? Is this real where am I? What if I'm the real alien?

Time and time again I wonder what's my purpose. I suppose we all have one and that's to make it what we want. The world is filled with opportunity, filled with greatness. At the same time the world throws a challenge at you. This life, what we become is a challenge, challenge is humanity.

The next time your in your room or the bathroom look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what's our purpose? Comeback and tell me your opinion on this matter

Super Bowl Tale of the Tape

Super Bowl Tale of the Tape

Quarterback-

Russell Wilson or Tom Brady? Pick your poison, both Quarterbacks are great in different ways. The three year pro versus the 15 year veteran. In many ways you can compare Brady to Russell in the early stages of their respective careers. Wilson in his third year has a chance to do something no QB has done this Sunday, become the youngest starting Qb to ever win two Super Bowls. Many will say Russell is a game manager at best and is only where he is because of the Seattle defense, you can argue and say the same about Brady early in his career. This will be Brady's 6th SB appearance and Wilson's 2nd. No team has repeated since the 2004 Patriots did so. When the game is on the line I'd take Brady over anyone else in the game, he's proven it this year again. Wilson does have one quality Brady has never possessed, the ability to create plays and extend plays with his feet.

With everything Brady has done in his career up until this point I'd give the the Patriots the advantage and a forth ring would argue Brady as the Greatest of all time.

Advantage- Patriots

Running Back-

When you look at the match up between Seattle and New England most people would tend to favor one side. If you really look at it, it's a lot closer than you think due to New England's depth at the position. When looking at Seattle, you know whats coming. Beast mode all the way, Lynch is a great running back and is on pace for most consecutive seasons with double digit touchdowns and at least  1200 yards. He's fast powerful and carries the Seahawks.

New England on the other hand has really no standout but great depth. You don't know what your getting every week. It could be Blount, Vareen, Gray or Boldin. Blount though stands out the most out of all backs, he actually since 2010 leads the NFL in yards after contact with 2.57 yards. Vareen posses a great receiving threat out of the backfield while Bolden and Gray hold their own when asked to.

Advantage- Seahawks

Wide Receiver-

Unlike many other teams in the NFL neither NE or SEA has a true number one weapon that teams must keep an eye on. Seattle posses Jermaine Kearse and Doug Baldwin and Ricardo Lockette being their best options. NE on the other hand has players like Julian Edelman, Brandon LaFell and Danny Amendola. Edelman and Lafell combined for just around 2000 Yards receiving with 11 touchdowns. Edelman shows great route running in the slot along with Danny Amendola. LaFell gives the Patriots their first true outside X receiver since Randy Moss. Seattle does a great job with what they have. Neither Baldwin nor Kearse do anything special. They are solid receivers though and get the job done. Baldwin caught 60+ balls this season to go along with 800+ yards while Kearse although not very fast provided some kind of deep threat.

Advantage- Push

Tight End-

Don't get me wrong Luke Wilson is an upcoming star and has had a great sleeper post season but Rob Gronkowski is beast among men at the Tight End position. Coming off ACL surgery many thought he would not be the same player anymore he proved doubters wrong catching 82 balls for 1100+ yards and 12 Touchdowns. Gronk is a match up nightmare and it will be interesting to see how the Seattle defense plans to assign to him.

Advantage- Patriots

Offensive Line-

Both New England and Seattle hold not great but very solid offensive lines. Max Unger center of Seattle is the mainstay in the running game for Seattle. Nate Solder and Sebastian Vollmer anchor the Patriots offensive line at the tackle spots respectively. Seattles run offense did rank 1st in the NFL this year but they will face a tough challenge as New England ranked 9th against the run. Meanwhile NE's front 5 will have a huge job maintaining seattle's front 4 pass rush.

Advantage- Push

Defensive line-

Both teams have great depth up front but I'd lean towards Seattle's front 4 over New England. Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Kevin Williams so on and so forth. Their very deep and could bring huge problems for NE.

New England doesn't have a standout pass rusher, Chandler Jones is the biggest name and he didn't even lead the Pats in sacks. Rob Nikovinch, Vince Wilfork, Alan Branch aren't household hold names but they still are very productive in their respective roles

Advantage- Seahawks

Linebackers-

The Seattle linebackers are great at what they do. Whether it's Bobby Wagner, Malcom Smith, KJ Wright or Bruce Irvin each plays at a high level and all are very young.

NE is missing a huge part of their linebacker  core in Jerod Mayo and if he was playing it could lean towards the Patriots. Aside from that Jamie Collins and Donte Hightower have developed into two of youngest stars across the league at the position. Outside of them you have Akeem Ayers and Jonathan Casallias both who play their roles well but aren't a KJ Wright or Malcom Smith.

Advantage- Seahawks

Secondary-

Tough one here, each team posses a great secondary. Seattle is known for their Cover 3 Scheme in which Richard Sherman plays the right side while Maxwell plays the left. Jeremy Lane the nickle corner will have a huge challenge this game. Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor are great safeties and arguably the best at their positions.

New England has great depth and could do a variety of things well. Darelle Revis can take away your best receiver anywhere on the field and Brandon Browner is a big physical corner. Devin McCourty's range in the secondary is unbelievable while Pat Chung is one of the best run support safeties across the league. Kyle Arrington and Logan Ryan were once starters and provide great depth while Arrington is a top slot corner in the league. I'n terms of versatility and what New England can do whether it is Man or Zone they do it well.

Advantage- Push

Special Teams-

Both teams have great kickers and punters. The game could come down to a return. Julian Edelman is only second in   NFL  history in yards per return behind Devin Hester. Seattle doesn't hold that kind of threat. Players like Matthew Slater, Chris White and Brandon Bolden are superior special teamers.

Advantage- Patriots

Overall-
Patriots- 3
Seahawks- 3
Tie- 3

Prediction-

This could very well go down as one of the greatest games to ever be played. I believe a few special team plays will make the difference in this one.

Patriots win 27-20

Top 5 Quarterbacks of the 2014 Season

 Top 5 Quarterbacks

 OF  THE 2014 SEASON

5.
         Russell Wilson-

Wilson in his third season led is team to a 12-4 record good for another NFC title and the NFC's number one seed. Number three comes in at number five for several reasons. Although he has led his team to a second straight Super Bowl I do believe he has a lot of help from the daunting Seattle Defense. In example, this past Sundays NFC championship game Wilson threw four interceptions before the fourth quarter. Normally when a teams starting QB throws that many interceptions especially in a a playoff game your most likely to lose but in Seattle it is a different story, simply because of the defense and what they have achieved over the past few years.

Wilson's Statistics for the 2014 Regular Season
285 for 492
3,475 Yards
20 TD's
7 INT's
217.2 Yards Per Game
95.0 QBR

4.

      Peyton Manning-

Manning had yet another great regular season leading his team to the AFC's second seed only behind the New England Patriots. Peyton started off hot right out the bat from week one until his age and neck injury caught up to him. As you watched you could clearly tell Manning was not the same old Manning as he struggled to make the deep balls down field. Number 18 at the age of 38 faces a tough decison whether or not to come back next season. Things in Denver would be different with John Fox out and Gary Gubiak in.

Manning's 2014 Season Stats

395 for 597
4,727 Yards
39 TD's
15 INT's
295.4 Yards Per Game
101.5 QBR

3.

      Tony Romo-

In what many thought would be another disappointing season for the Cowboys Romo gathered the troops alongside Dez Bryant and Demarco Murray. Romo although didn't post his usual amount of yardage he was still very proficient and continued to play well in the month of January. Tony led the 'Boys to an 11-5 record and a controversial divisional loss to the Packers.

Tony Romo 2014 Season Stats

304 for 435
3,705 Yards
34 TD's
9 INT's
247.0 Yards Per Game
113.2 QBR

2.

       Tom Brady-

Brady was terrific yet again this season. After a 2-2 start many questioned if the Quarterback was still "elite". He proved all his doubters wrong yet again leading his Patriots to a 12-4 record good first in the AFC and most importantly his sixth trip to the Super Bowl which is good for Best in NFL history. Brady also set a few more milestones in passing yards, TD's and wins in post season history.

Tom Brady 2014 Season Stats

373 for 582
4,109 Yards
33 TD's
9 INT's
256.8 Yards Per Game
QBR 97.4

1.

       Aaron Rodgers-

Rodgers had yet another great run, like Brady, Rodgers came out cold. He told reports "relax" and he was right 18 weeks later the Green Bay Packers were playing in the NFC championship. A great season including an 8-0 home run this season. Since 2012 Aaron has 25 TD's and no interceptions at home. Rodgers also faced a torn calf during the last few weeks of the season and throughout Green Bays post season run.

Rodgers 2014 Season Stats

341 for 520
4,381
38 TD's
5 INT's
273.8 Yards per game
112.2 QBR

The Super Bowl

Not many people really understand what the Super Bowl game means to the country or even the world. It's more than a game, it's more than two teams playing on a Sunday. Year after year the big game brings more and more viewers on television across the world. I wouldn't be surprised if this years Super Bowl between the Patriots and Seahawks shatters records of viewers and revenue. Many people ask why the Super Bowl isn't a holiday or why the day after the Super Bowl isn't a holiday. How many sports do you know that have an impact like that? Of course the NBA Finals or The world series is great but they are no Super Bowl. People who don't even like the game of football watch the Super Bowl for its famous commercials or halftime shows. This years halftime show features Katy Perry who will also be hosting Lenny Cravits. There are so many big names every year whether it's the players or performers at the halftime show, thats what makes this game so huge across the world. Baseball was once Americas game that is no longer. Football has achieved that title a long time ago and it will continue to do so because of the high level of play and most importantly the Super Bowl. I hope you will watch this years, I know I will be.
